Eddie Bruce Remembers the Latin Casino

Earlier this week, Evantine on the Square, our retail store hosted local entertainer, Eddie Bruce, friends of The Latin Casino, as well as the local press for an intimate event announcing Eddie’s upcoming “Remembering The Latin Casino” show at the Mandell Theater at Drexel University.  The tribute concert will take place on October 14, 2018, at 3:00 pm. We thank everyone who attended the in-store event and look forward to seeing you at Eddie’s concert!

Love Letter to The Latin

The concert is a love letter to “The Latin”, the famed nightclub in Cherry Hill, which attracted some of the entertainment world’s biggest performers. Names we all admire, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, James Brown, Richard Pryor, the Spinners, Natalie Cole, Eddie Fisher, Blue Magic, Johnny Carson, Don Rickles, Louis Prima, Sammy Davis Jr., Rodney Dangerfield, Jimmy Durante, the Temptations, Jerry Lewis, Liberace, Milton Berle, Tom Jones, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Darin, Ray Charles, and Jackie Wilson. To name just a few… but it rivaled Vegas in who came to perform on stage.

No wonder it was heartbreaking to so many when The Latin Casino closed. It was the end of an era. Which is why Eddie Bruce is celebrating the memory of the iconic hot spot. Celebrated cabaret and jazz singer, the amazing Miss Paula Johns, will also take the stage on October 14th.
