We recently spent some time on the The High Line in New York while in the city for the International Gift Show. Inspired by the Promenade plantée in Paris, this former elevated New York Central Railroad spur was brilliantly redesigned as one mile aerial walkway on the West Side of Manhattan.  The entire urban park is lined with fragrant wildflowers and prairie grasses. Truly, the choice of plant material and the design of the plants is AMAZING.

Looks like we weren’t the only ones inspired by the beautiful plantings. Bond No. 9, purveyors of New York neighborhood fragrances, have long been enamored of the High Line and its perfume possibilities. In 2010 they created a scent that conveys a whiff of urban wildflowers and a hint of industrial grit, with bits of Tenth Avenue energy and Chelsea gallery style added to the mix. Bond No. 9 High Line. The scent starts off with a prairie grazing weed mixed with citrusy bergamot and zesty Indian rhubarb. The perfume’s floral heart is red-leaf rose, Lady Jane tulips, and grape hyacinth. Its lingering base notes combine bur oak with imported sea moss, to evoke the Hudson’s River proximity, along with musk and teakwood, to remind us that Bond No. 9 High Line is a metro- perfume.

Stop into our boutique in The Rittenhouse Hotel for some of our favorite perfume from Bond No. 9 Parfum.
