Exciting News!

We are so excited to officially announce the third Philly Fights Cancer: Round 5 performer, Hugh Jackman! From acting and producing to singing and dancing, Hugh is the real deal! As a Grammy and Tony award winner, he’s a true entertainer who will, guaranteed, add even more sparkle to the night! We can’t wait to see him take the stage along with Emmy-award winning comedian John Mulaney and Billboard 100 musical artist Andy Grammer for a knockout evening on Saturday, October 26!

The Amazing Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman has made an impression on audiences of all ages with his multi-hyphenate career persona, as successful on stage in front of live crowds as he is on film. From his award-winning turn on Broadway as the 1970s singer/songwriter Peter Allen to his metal claw-wielding Wolverine in the blockbuster X-Men franchise, Jackman has proven to be one of the most versatile actors of our time. Jackman garnered his first Academy Award® nomination, for Best Actor, for his performance in Tom Hooper’s Les Misérables, based on the popular stage show created from Victor Hugo’s famous novel of the same name. Jackman’s standout performance as protagonist Jean Valjean also earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical, as well as Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award® nominations, for both Best Ensemble and Best Male Actor in a Leading Role, and a BAFTA Award nomination.  For his performance in the musical The Greatest Showman (2017), Hugh received a Grammy Award for Best Soundtrack Album. Sales for the soundtrack to the film have broken records the world over and reached multi-platinum status in many countries including the UK and America.

From the Big Screen to the Broadway Stage

In Broadway theatre, Jackman won the 2004 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his role in The Boy from Oz. A four-time host of the Tony Awards, he won an Emmy Award for hosting the 2005 ceremony. He also hosted the 81st Academy Awards in 2009. Jackman was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia in the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to performing arts and to the global community.

What a Lineup of Entertainment!

Just to be clear, on Saturday, October 26th, Hugh Jackman will join the lineup of incredible talent, which includes comedian John Mulaney and pop sensation Andy Grammer. Philly Fights Cancer: Round 5 will take place at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
