Not Just Any Entertainment Will Do

Get ready, Philly Fights Cancer: Round 4 is guaranteed to pack a punch on Saturday, November 10th at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Jerry Seinfeld and Maroon 5 to Perform

This year’s event will feature a performance by comedy icon Jerry Seinfeld, followed by a concert from internationally acclaimed Grammy-winning pop superstars Maroon 5.

Party of the Social Season

The signature fundraising event of Philly Fights Cancer stands out as one of the highlights of the Philadelphia social season. This star-studded evening, which welcomes guests of all ages, honors the doctors and physicians working to eradicate cancer by showcasing the stories of survivors whose lives have been saved as a result of the groundbreaking medical advances of the Abramson Cancer Center.

Real Heroes Making a Difference

This year’s honorary physician will be the Abramson Cancer Center’s Dr. Carl June, who, alongside his team, was named a runner-up for Time Magazine’s 2016 “Person of the Year” award for his work with CRISPR trials, which allows scientists to easily and inexpensively find and modify any piece of DNA in any species. This work also led to the FDA approval of CAR T Cell Therapy for pediatric leukemia in 2017. The treatment has been deemed a “miracle drug,” and its approval was referred to by the FDA as “historic action.” The New York Times called it “a milestone that is expected to transform [cancer] treatment in the coming years.”

This year’s Philly Fights Cancer Honorary Chair will be Sean Parker, Founder and Chairman of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy. The Institute was established in April 2016 through a $250 million grant from the Parker Foundation, which went directly to the CRISPR team, led By Dr. Carl June, and aims to accelerate the development of breakthrough immune therapies. Parker’s donation is the single largest contribution ever made to the field of immunotherapy and will help fund this new study.

$7 Million Was Raised Last Year!

Philly Fights Cancer: Round 3 raised $7 million, and was attended by over 1,700 donors, doctors, survivors, executives, and philanthropists, all of whom came together to celebrate the work of the Abramson Cancer Center. To date, Philly Fights Cancer has raised over $16 million.
