Chef Daniel Stern’s stunning new restaurant, R2L, with its scenic views of Philadelphia from the 37th Floor, proved the perfect location for Ted’s 40th Birthday Bash.

R2L‘s main dining room is stylishly designed with zebra-upholstered banquettes, deep blue lighting, modern metal sculptures and polished zebra-wood tables.   The restauranteurs were thoughtful indeed when they designed the restaurant with private events in mind.  In addition to the main dining room, a large event space completely lined with windows and high-tech accessories is available for private events.   Once the birthday boy saw the trendy hot spot, well, no other location would do for his birthday party!

We revamped the event space into a sexy cocktail lounge using zebra wood, polished chrome, merlot reds, black fringe and taupe furniture.  Of course, we just HAD to add a little bit of glitter, some incredible flowers and plenty of sultry lighting.

But it’s not just about the incredible views and inspired design.  There’s amazing food to be enjoyed as well.  A variety of savory food stations, passed hors d’s and family-style desserts were served throughout the evening.

Lobster rolls with lavender mayonnaise and tuna sashimi with pickled white asparagus.

Black fringed panels add subtle breaks in the floorplan and framed photos of the birthday boy provide personal detail.

The rich lighting placed around the room against the twilight-filled windows.

The event space is ideal for 80-person sitdown dinners, 120-person cocktail parties and other social gatherings looking for an original urban location.
